General Dentistry

A healthy smile is essential for overall wellness, and your teeth and gums require regular maintenance to ensure they remain comfortable and disease-free.

We offer comprehensive general dentistry to our patients to help them enjoy optimal oral health and a smile that functions comfortably.

Preventive Dentistry

We strive to prevent dental conditions whenever possible. With regular dental exams, cleanings, and x-rays, we can often detect dental conditions in their earliest stages before they pose a severe risk to your smile.

  • During a comprehensive dental exam, we evaluate the health of each tooth and look for signs of periodontal (gum) disease. If we find anything that requires treatment, we will let you know right away.
  • Our dental cleanings help keep your teeth clean and your gums healthy, as well as give you a smooth, fresh smile. Our hygienist removes plaque and tartar from tooth surfaces and finishes with a polishing, so your teeth look and feel completely clean.
  • Dental x-rays help us diagnose conditions that we cannot see with a visual exam alone. These include cavities, infections, bone loss, and certain types of cysts and tumors.

We typically recommend a dental exam and cleaning every six months unless you have a dental condition like gum disease that may require more frequent visits.

Restorative Dentistry

Whether you require a dental filling, crown, or dental bonding, we can repair your teeth to protect them and extend comfortable function.

  • Fillings — Fillings are used to repair a tooth after removing decay.
  • Crowns — Crowns protect and stabilize a cracked or deeply decayed tooth.
  • Bonding — Bonding fills in small chips and narrows gaps between teeth for cosmetic purposes or to prevent stains or decay.

When providing restorative dentistry, we make sure that the results are comfortable and long-lasting.

"Glad to have an awesome option for a neighborhood dentist."

Dr. Kumar and her team are great! My appointment was efficient, easy, and informative. They have a fun play area that kept my one year old very entertained too. Glad to have an awesome option for a neighborhood dentist.

Tooth Replacement Options

Saving your natural teeth is a priority for us, but sometimes it is necessary to remove a tooth to relieve painful symptoms, or when restoring it is not an option. However, having a gap in your smile is not ideal for your appearance or for chewing and speaking comfortably.

We offer the following tooth replacement options:

  • Fixed dental bridges — replace a missing tooth by anchoring an artificial tooth in place using two healthy teeth
  • Dental implants — replace a missing tooth by surgically implanting a replacement root and placing a dental crown
  • Dentures — replace all teeth on the upper or lower arch with a removable prosthetic
  • Partial dentures – replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring a prosthetic to your remaining natural teeth

A comprehensive dental exam allows us to recommend one of these options to restore your smile and ability to eat and speak comfortably again.

Frequently Asked Questions

While our dentists can diagnose many conditions with a visual exam, we cannot always see what is happening beneath your protective tooth enamel or below your gumline. Digital dental x-rays make this possible and allow us to make an earlier diagnosis, potentially saving you time and money and allowing us to treat conditions before they become critical – or painful.

By offering digital dental x-rays, we have significantly improved the safety of the care we provide. Digital dental x-rays emit up to 80 percent less radiation than traditional x-rays and give us instant access to high-resolution images for proper diagnosis of conditions such as bone loss, decay, and infection.

The cost of dental x-rays is low compared to complex restorative dentistry, making them a good investment in your oral health and the appearance of your smile. Without them, we would only have part of the story when it comes to your health, and the rest would be left to chance.

If you have questions about the necessity, safety, or process of digital dental x-rays, we encourage you to call or ask at your next appointment. We are dedicated to providing quality dentistry that supports a healthy, comfortable smile, and we look forward to hearing from you.

General Dentistry Technology

Laser Dentistry: Precision with Comfort

Soft tissue lasers represent a significant advancement in dental care, offering precise and minimally invasive treatments. This technology enables dentists to decontaminate deep periodontal pockets effectively and recontour gum tissue in a bloodless environment. Laser dentistry often results in reduced discomfort, faster healing times, and improved outcomes for a variety of soft tissue procedures.

Benefits for you: Less pain, quicker healing, and more comfortable treatments.

Intraoral Camera: Your Mouth on the Big Screen

Intraoral cameras bring a new level of patient education and diagnostic precision to dental care. These small, pen-sized devices allow dentists to capture and display high-resolution images of your mouth, teeth, and gums on a screen in real-time. This technology enables patients to see exactly what the dentist sees, facilitating better understanding of dental conditions such as cracked teeth or leaking fillings, and promoting informed decision-making about treatment options.

Benefits for you: Better understanding of your oral health, improved communication with your dentist.
